Political Objection Triggers Fresh Debate
Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is back in the spotlight today after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) filed a complaint over the teaser’s “obscene and explicit” visuals. The party questioned how the teaser was released without approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Makers Clarify CBFC Rules
The film’s team responded quickly and clarified that the teaser does not need CBFC clearance. According to current rules, online teasers and trailers do not require certification unless they are shown in theatres.
Sources from the production confirmed that the teaser was released only on digital platforms. Since it did not screen in cinemas, CBFC approval was not mandatory.
Fans Support Yash Amid Controversy
Meanwhile, fans strongly supported Yash on social media. Many praised the teaser’s dark tone and bold presentation. Director Geetu Mohandas has not commented on the issue yet.
Despite the political complaint, Toxic continues to trend online and remains on schedule for release.
