The excitement around the upcoming war epic Border 2 is growing rapidly as the film heads toward its January 23, 2026 release. With emotional moments, powerful statements, and a nostalgic song launch, the makers are building strong momentum. As a sequel to the iconic 1997 classic, Border 2 aims to deliver scale, emotion, and national pride.

Sunny Deol’s ‘Lahore Tak’ War Cry Goes Viral

Recently, Sunny Deol visited the historic Tanot Mata Temple in Jaisalmer, located close to the India–Pakistan border. During the visit, he delivered a powerful line that instantly caught public attention. He asked how far the voice should reach this time and answered it himself by saying, “All the way to Lahore.”

This moment created goosebumps among fans and quickly went viral online. According to the director, the line was inspired by a real incident during a shoot in Leh. There, an Army instructor challenged cadets to shout so loudly that they could be heard across the border. As a result, the line perfectly reflects the film’s high-energy tone.

‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ Song Launch Touches Hearts

On January 2, 2026, the makers released the emotional song “Ghar Kab Aaoge”, a reimagined version of the legendary Sandese Aate Hain. The song launch took place at the Longewala–Tanot border in the presence of Army and BSF personnel.

While the original composition by Anu Malik remains intact, the song now features new vocals by Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, and Vishal Mishra. In addition, fresh lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla give the song a modern emotional depth. The visuals show Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, making the moment deeply moving.

Varun Dhawan’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ Adds Modern Relevance

Varun Dhawan, who plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, has drawn attention with his comments on “Operation Sindoor.” According to reports, this mission in the film carries a strong message about protecting innocent lives.

Moreover, the storyline subtly reflects present-day issues, including violence and religious intolerance. Through this narrative, Varun highlights the responsibility of both soldiers and society. As a result, the film connects the historical 1971 war with current realities.

An Emotional Film for Sunny Deol

For Sunny Deol, Border 2 holds deep personal meaning. The film serves as a tribute to his late father Dharmendra, who passed away in November 2025. During the song launch, Sunny revealed that Dharmendra’s 1964 film Haqeeqat inspired his love for war films.

Although he admitted to feeling emotionally shaken, Sunny thanked audiences for treating him like family. This emotion is visible in the song, where his character is shown reading letters and remembering fallen comrades.
