Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra has been discharged from a Mumbai hospital after undergoing treatment for chest congestion. Family members confirmed that he returned home safely and is now under home care while continuing to recover.

Chopra was admitted on 8 November at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after experiencing discomfort and breath-related issues. His son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, earlier described the hospitalisation as a precautionary measure and stated that Chopra’s advancing age required closer monitoring of his health. The medical team confirmed that he was stable throughout his stay and did not require ICU-level care.

Having built a career spanning six decades, Prem Chopra remains one of Bollywood’s iconic figures, known for his memorable roles in films like Upkar, Do Raaste, and Bobby. His return home has relieved many of his fans and the film fraternity, who had expressed concern following the news of his hospitalisation.

While family members stressed that he should take sufficient rest, industry insiders also pointed out that the veteran actor’s health update may bring renewed attention to wellness and health vigilance among senior stars in Indian cinema.

For now, Prem Chopra is recovering at home and is expected to take off from public appearances until his physician gives final clearance.
